Williams, Olasehinde and Sholademi competed in the men’s 50m compound, finishing behind hosts South Africa to claim silver.

Nigeria also won silver in the mixed category, combining men and women. The trio of Williams, Sholademi and Kachollom Enyenihi competed for Team Nigeria in this event.

The competition started on Monday, with individual eliminations, then continued with team eliminations on Tuesday and ended on Wednesday (yesterday) with the finals.

A total of 66 archers from 16 different countries including Algeria, Chad, Ivory Coast, Comoros, Egypt, Guinea, Kenya, Libya, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe participated in this year’s competition.

This was the first edition of the African Championships since the last edition was held in Pretoria, South Africa in 2016. It is now the 12th edition of the tournament in history.
