Main objective of the role

Produces, monitors and manages all advertising logs for Primedia Broadcasting. Ensures accurate submission of all log schedules to relevant departments for execution.

Main outputs/responsibility

  • Check incompatible products, positioning, overselling and not exceeding the ICASA decision
  • Provide accurate acknowledgment of daily logs received from programming once signed off and notify next day sales coordinators of non-airing of advertisements
  • Chase booking coordinators over uneducated ads at the start of the day and before the newspaper closes.
  • Ensure all unscheduled commercials are cleared/or released to programming for delivery
  • Ensure deadlines are met and hard copy logs are provided to programming
  • Ensure that all journals are accounted for before the end of the financial year and during the audit
  • Effectively manage unscheduled spots
  • Communicate airtime availability for respective stations and fine-scheduling issues
  • Manage unscheduled spots before invoicing

Requirements

  • Minimum matrix
  • Minimum of four years of experience in an administrative and/or commercial environment
  • Experience/knowledge of advertising processes would be an advantage
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills to manage interactions and relationships with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally
  • Above average proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Number with a high level of accuracy and attention to alpha and numeric data
  • Query resolution skills to identify and track queries and tasks.
  • Excellent command and understanding of business English (oral and written)
  • Values-based work ethic (honesty, confidentiality, integrity)
  • Ability to stay calm and deal with pressure
