O&M Financial and Operational Analyst – 12 month contract

My client in the renewable energy industry is looking for a Business Graduate to join their team for a 12 month contract in Cape Town. Graduates and those with experience will be considered.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial and operational analysis relating to the O&M segment, including periodic analysis and communication of O&M financial results, development of O&M cost estimates and budgets for new projects, business budgeting and reporting on power generation and revenue generation. segment and ad hoc strategic, market and commercial analysis for the O&M segment.

Tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:
O&M monthly financial analysis and reports

• Develop monthly Opex review processes and structures
• Establish Opex Review Operating Models
• Coordinate the Opex stakeholder interface
• Provide analysis and operational reports in accordance with service requirements

Structuring of the O&M budget for new projects

• Establish and maintain general budget models for new projects
• Establish and maintain budget structuring procedures and processes for new and existing projects
• Establish O&M budgets and profitability estimates for new projects
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders and contributions to budget processes

O&M Strategic, market-related and commercial analysis

• Participate in strategic and market related studies concerning the O&M segment, such as benchmarking of competitors and development of strategic roadmaps
• Perform financial feasibility studies and business cases for O&M deliverables
• Carry out optimization surveys of operations and maintenance activities
• Develop presentations and trainings in O&M finance for global, regional and plant managers

Budgeting and power generation reports

• Maintain the Electricity Generation segment records of MWh produced and revenue generated on a monthly basis
• Provide quarterly advice on actual and forecasted power generation
• Support local teams in preparing annual production and revenue budgets for all project companies

CONDITIONS:

• Degree in business, economics or finance
• High computer knowledge
• Very good command of MS Excel
• Experience in a relevant financial control and / or analytical environment
• Additional studies or experience in renewable energies would be a plus
• Experience and training in energy contract management would be a plus
