The mother of the new Miss South Africa, Hleliselwe, was an accountant who, after years of work, decided to take on the great responsibility of being a housewife. She has an older sister Hlobisile and a brother Mavela. Her father died 11 years ago.
In her Miss South Africa acceptance speech, Mswane described what she would like to achieve in the year of her reign:
“During the journey towards this title, I have made unemployment the cornerstone of all causes close to my heart because it not only affects our youth, but is the source of many social ills so prevalent in South Africa. It is now my duty as Miss South Africa to make sure that I start the conversation about unemployment among our young people and look for meaningful solutions that will have lasting effects on its reimbursement.
“My campaign aims to offer support to young people to help them create their own employment opportunities through entrepreneurial skills and in doing so empower them to be self-reliant and secure their own economic future. I do not take the magnitude of the task lightly or for granted because I know that unemployment is a complex problem. But taking action to reduce it is now more necessary than ever. Let us prepare to create and build healthy and sustainable entrepreneurial opportunities, to take charge and shape our own future. There has never been a better time to do it!
“A sincere note of gratitude to my compatriots Miss South Africa 2021 for making this trip so incredibly incredible. My beautiful South Africa, now that I have been so warmly welcomed into your hearts, I hope to bring you as much joy and pride as possible. My role now is to encourage, inspire, give hope and continue to work and build on the legacy of Miss South Africa’s past. I intend to live by every word I have spoken and to serve, lead and represent our beautiful nation to the best of my ability, ”she concluded.
