WATER AND WASTE – SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT: CLEANING – OPERATIONAL PROGRAMS MANAGEMENT UNIT

SENIOR PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: CLEANING – OPERATIONAL PROGRAMS MANAGEMENT UNIT

TCOE: SALARY FROM R840 607 – R1 140489 PER ANNUM – REF NO: SWM 13 // 21 – CAPE TOWN CIVIC CENTER

Conditions:

  • A relevant diploma or BTech qualification in project management, built environment, environmental management, environmental or civil engineering or geological engineering / sciences
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the field related to project and program management at an appropriate level
  • Computer literacy in MS and SAP applications
  • A valid driver’s license code B or EB.

Key performance areas:

  • Apply a substantial body of professional knowledge in a specialized discipline or functional area
  • Launch projects and programs through the application of strategic and operational planning guidelines
  • Drafting of specifications for projects and programs and commenting on draft documents relating to all projects and programs of the General Directorate of Sanitation
  • Undertake and administer the entire life cycle of projects and programs
  • Chair (chair) relevant Cleaning Department committees that deal with the implementation of projects and programs from time to time
  • Implementation of a range of major and minor projects and programs for cleanup: solid waste management
  • Review the specifications and standards of projects and programs of the General Directorate of Cleaning and make recommendations on new standards to stay abreast of new technologies and innovations
  • Undertake accurate and responsible use of financial and other resources to complete required projects
  • Communicate with the internal Solid Waste Finance Department for requests for budget adjustments and requests for additional funding on current and new projects
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with management, internal and external stakeholders and professional colleagues
  • Writing letters and reports to provide information and resolve more complex queries or problems on projects and programs
  • Analyze statistical data and make recommendations for the consideration of the hierarchy
  • Undertake significant research related to solid waste management focusing on cleaning aspects.
