How iCare Financial is used by Midas

There is no doubt that people could have gone elsewhere, but they come to us because we have the iCare Financial payment option.

iCare Financial is primarily available to customers who are having difficulty paying for repairs and who are not eligible for credit.

In business for over 50 years, Midas is proud to offer everything related to vehicle repair, including brakes, tires and oil changes. Midas locations offer not only factory recommended maintenance, but a full auto repair as well. There are currently over 1,400 different locations in the United States and Canada.

Karen Hinshaw owns two Midas stores in North Carolina. One is in Winston Salem at 2039 Silas Creek Pkwy, and the other is at 3720 W. Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, North Carolina. These stores are approximately 25 miles from each other and provide top notch auto repair services to customers across the region.

Karen has actively used iCare Financial for over 3 years to enable customers to pay for the maintenance and repair of their vehicles. She is very satisfied with the experience she had and considers iCare to be something very positive that she can offer to customers.

Who uses iCare?

Midas offers its own financing through a partnership with Synchrony Bank. Unfortunately, those with less than perfect credit often struggle to qualify and it can be a very frustrating experience for them as they are in desperate need of repairs.

Karen’s stores accept iCare Financial for repairs of $ 300 or more. She works directly with clients and puts them on a payment plan that they can afford. Usually, the typical fee when iCare Financial is used is around $ 600 to $ 1,200.

Often times, customers decide to go with iCare Financial payments when they discover there is a sudden auto charge that they otherwise couldn’t afford. Other times, people know ahead of time that they need a lot of work on their vehicle and leverage iCare strategically to get all the work they need done.

Build recurring customers

Karen believes that offering this payment option goes a long way in building a positive relationship with customers. “It goes from you being the bad guy, to being able to explain the job and offering an option to pay for it. “

Its two North Carolina-based Midas branches see a lot of loyal customers and also often see people who have come specifically because iCare is offered. Karen points out, “There’s no question people could have gone elsewhere, but they come to us because we have the iCare Financial payment option.

Karen’s stores have seen several people funded through iCare pay for their initial auto repair plan, then come back for another type of service and request the iCare payment option again. One customer even made 5 different plans through iCare Financial.

Spread the word

One of the primary ways Karen has made it known that she is offering iCare Financial funding is by using a reading sign posted on the side of the building. People who drive are often very intrigued by the sign and stop to find out about this “no credit check financing”.

Karen says they have had huge results with this banner and they certainly have no plans to take it down. Its Midas branches also have signs posted in the lobby that advertise iCare and how it works. Because of this easy way to get the word out, customers are now asking for iCare Financial by name.

Offering iCare has been a major boost for their stores due to the fact that no one else in their area currently offers such a flexible and innovative way to finance their auto repairs.

Karen adds, “iCare is invaluable if you use the plan correctly. If I had another type of business I would use it as an option!
